Random Gambling Tip:

Secrets of the craps table layout

The game of Craps has been designed to tempt the player into making wager that are to the "The House" advantage. These bets offer a quick result if they payoff. If you understand this then you can bet wisely on at the Craps table.

The bets located in the center of the table are "proposition bets" and are weighted heavily in favour of the house. They also offer the best return should you win. This is the point pushed by the stickman to get people to wager on these bets. Bets on 7, 11, Ace Deuce, Any Craps or the Hardways and the other

"proposition bets" range from 9% to almost 17% edge in favour of the house. If you want to give your money to the casino then these are the bets to make.

Also note how the table layout features The Field bet, which is a self service wager that is easy for the dealers to deal with. The house's take on the Field Bet 2.77%. Strangely enough the Field wager on most tables in better than Place Bets on the 5 or 9 and 4 or 10 and even Buy Bets on the 4 or 10.

You also need to watch out for the Big 6 and 8. This wager is as bad as any "proposition bet" with a 9% advantage to "The House". An interesting note is that you cannot find the Big 6 and 8 in Atlantic City casinos.

It is also interesting to note that the table lay out discourages "Don't Bets" by placing the wager box away from the players. The reson for this is that the "Don't Bets" offer a slight advantage to the player over the "Pass Line Bets" and more importantly are more difficult to service by the dealer and tend to slow down the game.

Basically the table's lay out and the call of the stickman (or woman) are designed to tempt the player into making wagers that favour "The House" and place the smarter wagers in difficult to reach locations. Do not let impatience make you place illadvised wagers for the sake of a big return.
